1st Thurlby Scout Group has been active in the village of Thurlby for over 50 years. As a group we currently have 100 members aged 6-18 who meet weekly in the village hall.
We aim to provide each child with a range of experiences and teach them new skills throughout their Scouting career and so there is a varied programme in place to support this. This enables children to grow in confidence and knowledge and achieve their badges. Regular activities include archery, sailing, camping, hiking, craft, cooking and outdoor games plus The Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme for the older Explorer section.
In order to run and participate in activities, a large amount of equipment is required along with transport and storage facilities as we do not have our own Scout Hut.
One of the values of Scouting is that it should be available to all, so for this reason we aim to keep our annual subscription fees low for members. As a non- profit organisation, we actively participate in fund raising and also help marshal the local fun run and other events within our community to help raise our profile.
We need your help so we can continue to provide exciting experiences for our young people.
Thank you for your support and good luck!
